I found a flash drive in a regular sausage: at first I thought the flash drive had accidentally ended up in the food until I checked its contents.
The narrator begins by describing what should have been an entirely ordinary grocery run. It was a routine errand on a quiet evening, nothing out of the ordinary in the store, no strange encounters, no unusual purchases. Among the items bought was a standard package of sausages, vacuum sealed, the same brand the narrator had purchased many times before. That night, they prepared a quick dinner, cooking a few of the sausages and eating them without noticing anything unusual in taste, texture, or appearance. The rest of the package was placed in the refrigerator for the next morning.
When morning came, the narrator returned to the kitchen and began making breakfast. They took out the remaining sausages, set one on the cutting board, and picked up the knife. As they pressed down to slice it, the blade stopped abruptly. The resistance felt wrong. At first they assumed the sausage had not fully thawed and that they had simply hit a frozen spot. They applied more pressure and tried again, but the same solid obstruction stopped the blade. Confused and slightly irritated, they turned the sausage and attempted to cut from another angle, only to feel the same unnatural hardness inside.
