Two-Step Pound Cake
Step 1:
Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
Grease and flour a Bundt or tube pan (10-inch).
Step 2:
In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until creamy and pale (about 4–5 minutes).
Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition.
In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour. Mix just until smooth.
Stir in vanilla extract.
Step 3 (bake):
Pour batter evenly into the prepared pan and bake for 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes, then remove and cool completely on a rack.
Optional Glaze (if you want it extra special):
Mix 1 cup powdered sugar with 2 tablespoons milk and ½ teaspoon vanilla. Drizzle over the cooled cake.
